EEU accelerates adoption of navigation seals to track cargo shipments
<p> MINSK, Feb 9 - PrimePress. The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has instructed the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) to accelerate domestic procedures required for the signing of a draft agreement on the use of navigation seals in the EEU to track commodity shipments in the second quarter of 2021, the press office of the Belarusian government said after the session of the EEC Council held on February 8, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Eurasian Economic Union set a zero import customs duty on aluminum fluoride for three years to facilitate production of aluminum, reduce its cost, and increase the availability of aluminum and aluminum products in the EEU, including Belarus. The EEC Council approved the postponement of the entry into force of the EEU technical regulations on energy efficiency of power consuming devices from September 1, 2021 to September 1, 2022, providing a sufficient transition period for normalizing the business climate and business recovery after the phased removal of anti-coronavirus restrictions. </p> <p> </p> <p> Also, amendments were made to the list of goods that originate from developing and least developed countries, in respect of which tariff preferences for fluorspar are applied when imported into the customs territory of the EEU. </p> <p> </p> <p> Amendments were made to the regulations on the procedure for quarantine phytosanitary monitoring (supervision) at the customs border of the EEU and regulations on the procedure for quarantine phytosanitary monitoring (supervision) in the customs territory of the Union in terms of labeling of regulated products, requirements to wood packaging materials, as well as the criteria for recognition of phytosanitary certificates. </p> <p> </p> <p> The EEC Council initiates pharmaceutical inspections using remote interaction means for the registration of medicines under EEU rules to ensure the entry of medicines into the common market.
