EEC submits for public discussion a draft scheme for assessment, distribution of EEU customs revenues in 2020

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) held a public discussion of the draft regulations of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council “On the enrollment and distribution of proceeds from import customs duties between the budgets of the Eurasian Economic Union member states in 2020”. The draft document is published on the website of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). </p> <p> </p> <p> The deadline for public discussion is March 23, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> An import customs duty is a compulsory payment levied by customs authorities of member states in connection with the import of goods into the customs territory of the EEU. Import customs duties paid (recovered) are to be credited and distributed between the budgets of the EEU member states. </p> <p> </p> <p> Crediting and distribution of import customs duties between the budgets of the states is carried out in accordance with the protocol on the procedure for crediting and distribution of import customs duties and their transfer to the budgets of the EEU treaty member states. </p> <p> </p> <p> Starting from January 1, 2020, import customs duties will be distributed in the following amounts: Armenia - 1.22%, Belarus - 4.86%, Kazakhstan - 6.955%, Kyrgyzstan - 1.9%, Russia - 85.065%. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2019, total import customs duties in dollar terms amounted to $12.7bn (+3.2% yoy).
