EEC proposes to levy indirect taxes in EEU mutual e-commerce based on destination country principle

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) on 5 October 2021 suggested levying indirect taxes in mutual electronic trade within the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia) according to the country-of-destination principle, the EEC press service informs. </p> <p> </p> <p> The EEC will coordinate the proposal with the governments of the EEU countries; the first discussion of this innovation at the level of vice prime ministers of the EEU countries is expected in the first quarter of 2022.
