EEC may introduce scrap export quotas for six months instead of total ban

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has submitted for public discussion a draft resolution, which provides for introducing an export quota for scrap ferrous metals for six months instead of a complete ban. The text of the draft resolution is published on the legal portal of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU; Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia). </p> <p> </p> <p> The draft proposes to set the export quota for Russia at 2 million tons, for Belarus - 3.3 thousand tons, for Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan - zero, Prime reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> Earlier, the EEC prepared a decision to ban the export of waste and scrap ferrous metals until January 15, 2022.
