EEC approves programme for developing interstate standards for EEC technical regulations on meat and meat products

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved a programme to develop interstate standards for technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEC) “On the safety of meat and meat products”, the EEC press service reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> The programme provides for the development of 53 interstate standards, of which 34 are based on national standards, one - on the basis of methods, 15 are scheduled for development for the first time. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The development of 47 interstate standards is provided for identifying different types of slaughter products (horsemeat, pork, yak meat, mutton, lamb and others) and meat products (sausages, canned meat, pates, culinary products, meat products for baby food, etc.), six standards - for research to assess compliance with technical regulations (methods for determination of toxic elements of mercury and lead, rice and wheat flour content in canned food for baby food, genetically modified and other food products). </p> <p> </p> <p> Kazakhstan is responsible for the development of five standards, Kyrgyzstan for one, and Russia for 47.
