EDB forecast: Eurasian Economic Union countries’ mutual trade to grow by 20% to $66bn in 2021

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has released a forecast saying that mutual trade of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will grow by 20% year on year in 2021 up to $66 billion. This is stated in the EDB’s weekly Economic News Review published on September 27. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The EDB estimates that by the end of the year the volume of mutual trade of the EEU countries will exceed the level of 2020 by no less than 20%, and the value of the pre-pandemic year will be exceeded by more than 10%,” the review says. </p> <p> </p> <p> EDB experts say EEU mutual trade expanded by 30.4% year on year in January-July 2021, 0.6% increase in July 2021 up to $ 5.9 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the volume of mutual trade in goods between EEU countries declined by 10.7% year on year in 2020 to $55.1bn.
