EDB expects Belarus inflation to remain at 9.8% until November

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts that year-on-year inflation in Belarus will remain at 9.8% until November and will slightly decline in December 2021, according to the EDB weekly economic news release published on 13 September. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the EDB estimates, year-on-year inflation in Belarus in August 2021 was 9.8%, same as in July 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the official statistics, inflation in Belarus was 0.2% in August 2021, while in January-August it was 6.1%. In August 2021, prices rose by 9.8% compared to August 2020. In January-August 2021, they increased by 9% year on year. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus inflation stood at 7.4% in 2020, with official forecast set at 5%.
