EDB confirms Belarus’ 2021 year-end inflation forecast at about 10%

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has confirmed its previous forecast, which said Belarus would see year-end inflation in 2021 at about 10%. </p> <p> </p> <p> This is stated in the EDB weekly review of economic news published on November 15. </p> <p> </p> <p> The EDB notes that inflation in Belarus in October 2021 was at 10.5% yoy after 10.2% yoy in September. </p> <p> </p> <p> Earlier in October, EDB experts noted the high probability of annual inflation remaining close to 10% by the end of 2021, due to the increase in food prices in the global market and in the market of the key trading partner Russia, as well as a decline in grain crops. The EDB notes that inflation in Belarus in October 2021 was at 10.5% yoy after 10.2% yoy in September.
