Directed lending to state programs in Belarus up 220% in 2020 to Br2.4bn

The directed crediting of state programs in Belarus increased by 220% in 2020 against the initial plan to Br2.4 billion rubles ($930.7 million at the rate of National Bank of Belarus), as per government resolution No.802 of December 31, 2020 posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on January 12, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Following president’s orders, directed lending to business entities increased in 2020 by 440% against the initial plan to Br1.809 billion ($701.5 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> Directed lending to the state agricultural business development program for 2016-2020 increased by 63% in 2020 to Br496.878 million ($192.7 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarusbank increased directed lending to state programs in 2020 by 213% to 1.78 billion Belarusian rubles ($690.3 million); Belagroprombank – by 140% to Br470.9 million ($182.6 million); Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus – by 50.1% to Br765.225 million ($296.8 million).
