Deliveries of MAZ trucks and buses to Ukraine will be continued after May 1, 2021, in full volume and on the agreed terms, reads a message posted on the website of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Ukraine will introduce a special duty for imported Belarusian machinery in the amount of 35% of its customs value starting May 2, 2021. The special duty shall be imposed on new motor vehicles intended for transportation of ten persons or more; motor vehicles for transportation of goods with internal combustion piston engine with compression ignition (diesel or semi-diesel) with gross vehicle weight exceeding 5 tonnes, but not exceeding 20 tonnes and gross vehicle weight exceeding 20 tonnes (except for motor chassis with a cabin); new special-purpose motor vehicles - emergency repair lorries, mobile cranes, road sweepers, water washers, workshop trucks, hydraulic lifts. </p> <p> </p> <p> “For all persons and consumers concerned on the Ukrainian market we would like inform that MAZ … with its official distributor - MAZ-Ukraine Trade House LLC - continue their work on the Ukrainian market as usual”, reads the message on the MAZ website. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the report, MAZ has supplied 1,500 passenger vehicles and more than 8,000 trucks for the last six years to Ukraine. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Ukraine’s AUTO-Consulting information-analytical group, in January-March 2021 MAZ has been the leader in terms of sales on the Ukrainian market of new trucks, with a 18.3% market share. AUTO-Consulting points out that in 2020 in the Ukrainian market MAZ was also a top seller of trucks weighing more than 3.5 tonnes (798 units, a 21.7% market share) and second biggest seller of buses (241 units, 24.1%). </p> <p> </p> <p> MAZ, the country’s largest OAO, is fully owned by the Belarusian government. The enterprise produces all-wheel drive trucks, log trucks, dump trucks, cranes on truck chassis, trailers and semitrailers, custom-made vehicles, buses. End </p>
