BNBC agro-industrial and infrastructure facilities to be put into operation in Sep-Dec 2020

Agro-industrial and infrastructure facilities of the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation CJSC (BNBC, Pukhovichi District, Minsk Oblast) are planned to be put into operation in September-December 2020, the president of Belarus was reported during his visit to the Pukhovichi District (Minsk Oblast) on August 10, says the presidential press office. </p> <p> </p> <p> Four plants will produce compound feed for cattle, poultry, pigs and fish, and one plant will produce premixes. A grain depot is also on the list. </p> <p> </p> <p> The BNBC plans to start production of amino acids at a non-stop cycle plant from March 2021. The so-called BNBK-3 advanced development project is expected to be launched by mid-2024. It envisages production of vitamins, amino acids and starch and glucose products. </p> <p> </p> <p> The BNBC will process 700,000 tonnes of grain per year. Agricultural facilities will produce marketable products worth $650 million per year. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the president of Belarus issued in November 2017 a decree stipulating that the BNBC would provide Belarus with project property in security, as Belarus borrowed $628 million in a soft loan from the Export-Import Bank of China (China Eximbank) for the BNBC under government guarantees. In 2020, the Finance Ministry of Belarus will contribute over Br17.8 million ($7.27 million at the rate of National Bank of Belarus) to the statutory fund of the BNBC from the republican centralized innovation fund for the purchase of 2.5 million shares. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation was established in 2016, founders undisclosed. According to media reports, former president of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev holds a 52% stake, Russia’s Virent-Invest – 15%, the Belarusian government – 33%. </p> <p> </p> <p> In summer 2018, the BNBC started building factories near Belarus’ Rudensk to manufacture lysine, threonine and tryptophane of plants for the production of lysine, threonine, tryptophan and ready-mixed feed. The company plans to build granaries, a car factory and agricultural, engineering and transport infrastructure facilities. Chinese CITIC Group acts as the general contractor. The plan is to build a complex of 14 plants that will be commissioned phase by phase. Products will be used for company’s production and supplied to the markets of Russia, Ukraine, the EU and China.
