BNB-Bank raises €5m loan for SME development in Belarus

<p> MINSK, Sep 28 - PrimePress. BNB-Bank and Triodos Fair Share Fund and Triodos Microfinance Fund, investment funds managed by Triodos Investment Management (the Netherlands), have entered into a syndicated loan agreement for €5 million, said the bank’s press service. </p> <p>   </p> <p> According to the bank, during the last 12 months BNB-Bank and Triodos Investment Management made a number of deals totalling €14 million. The proceeds were used for crediting small and medium-sized businesses in Belarus - companies that need special support in the current economic conditions. </p> <p>   </p> <p> “The current deal is not an exception. The 5 million euros raised will be earmarked for financing Belarusian small and medium-sized companies,” the statement said. </p> <p>   </p> <p> Triodos Investment Management (Triodos IM) has been investing in more than 750 projects in more than 50 countries. The company is owned by Triodos Bank NV founded in 1980 in the Netherlands, the leading expert in sustainable banking worldwide. </p> <p>   </p> <p> BNB-Bank OJSC was founded in 1992. Its head office is located in Minsk. The bank has 16 banking centres in Minsk, Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Mogilev and Grodno. Bank of Georgia JSC holds 99.98% of its shares.
