Beltelecom, ZTE upgrade interactive television platform ZALA
<p> MINSK, Jan 22 - PrimePress. Beltelecom, the Belarusian state-run telecommunications operator, and the Chinese company ZTE have upgraded Belarus’ digital interactive television platform ZALA (IPTV), extending its functionality and capacity, according to a press-release by Beltelecom. </p> <p> </p> <p> Beltelecom has been providing ZALA interactive television services since 2009; the number of ZALA subscribers exceeds 2 million. ZALA previously hosted more than 150 TV channels and about 5 thousand units of movie content. The upgrade has significantly increased these parameters: the capacity of the platform has been expanded to 2.25 million subscribers. Additional features, including support for OTT and 4K technologies, were introduced. After the upgrade, the unified IPTV/OTT platform will provide subscribers with access to YouTube, IVI online cinema, MEGOGO and more.tv media services. In addition, the platform interacts with social media Facebook, VKontakte and Viber. End </p>
