Beltelecom to focus on FOCL construction in localities with 50 to 100 households in 2021
<p> MINSK, Feb 26 - PrimePress. Beltelecom national telecommunications operator will focus on the construction of fiber-optic communication lines (FOCL) in settlements with the number of households from 50 to 100 in 2021, the operator says. </p> <p> </p> <p> Beltelecom has provided all localities with more than 100 households with the fiber-optic cable access. At present, over 56% of settlements with 50-100 households already have high-speed Internet access. Fiber-optic lines are being built in private house neighborhoods, primarily in regional centers and cities with population over 80,000 people. In 2020, 5,912 km of FOCL were built and put into operation. </p> <p> </p> <p> As of late 2020, Belarus numbered 12.195 million broadband Internet subscribers (up 4.5% from 2019), including wireless broadband – 8.939 million (up 5.7%), fixed broadband – 3.256 million (up 1.3%), including 2.698 million of Beltelecom (up 1.3%). </p> <p> </p> <p> Beltelecom was established in 1995 and offers 70 types of services.
