Beltelecom raises tariffs on certain services by 1.3-18% from Dec 21

Belarus’ state-owned telecommunications operator Beltelecom on Dec 21 will increase rates for telecommunication services, raise tariffs for telecom services which are regulated by the state. </p> <p> </p> <p> For instance, for individuals the landline telephone subscription fee will be increased by 4.5% to Br3.59 ($1.41 at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), the per-minute charge - by 1.3% to Br0.0073 ($0.003, $1 - Br2.5476), for intercity calls - by 18% depending on the technology used. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The decision to revise the administered tariffs was taken in order to bring them to the cost recovery level,” said Beltelecom. </p> <p> </p> <p> In addition, tariffs on Internet access services will increase by 1.46% within the limits established by the regulator in accordance with legislation. Tariffs on other telecommunication services will increase by 5% on average within the forecast index of consumer price growth for 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The increase in tariffs will not affect dedicated Internet access, provision of channels and long-distance lines, consolidation of corporate networks under IP protocol (VPN), access to international data transmission networks, video control services, and some other services. </p> <p> </p> <p> Beltelecom was established in July 1995. It is a telecommunications operator and Internet service provider, which offers about 70 types of services.
