Belstat: 70.4% of Belarus’ entities have website, 30.5% use cloud services
<p> MINSK, Jun 22 - PrimePress. 70.4% of entities in Belarus have a website, 30.5% of Belarus’ companies use cloud services. </p> <p> </p> <p> The National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) released those figures following a state statistical monitoring survey aimed at analyzing the use of information and communication technologies by organizations in 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> 8.6 thousand respondents took part in the survey. </p> <p> </p> <p> 98.7% of companies interviewed had the opportunity to use the Internet in their work, while 78.3% - local area networks, 27.6% - intranet and 14.7% - extranet. E-mail services were used by 98.4% of the organisations surveyed. Every second organisation (50.9%) provided their employees with technical means for wireless (mobile) access to the Internet. </p> <p> </p> <p> Almost all entities (94.6%) connected to the Internet use fixed broadband access. Access speeds over 10 Mbps were used by 64.9% of all organisations with internet access in 2020, compared to 53.9% in 2018. Wireless internet access was used by 62% of entities. </p> <p> </p> <p> 70.4% of the entities surveyed had a website, of which 72.8% used it to publish catalogues of goods (works, services) or price lists, 45% used it to publish vacancies and 22.6% used it to make payments through an electronic payment system. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2020, 30.5% of entities used cloud computing services. Most often they used cloud services to receive and transmit emails (66.2% of organizations using cloud services), to host databases and file storage (62.1%), to access software provided by the cloud service provider (61.1%) and to host their own software (34.3%). </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the monitoring survey data, in 2020, 27.9% of entities sold goods (works, services) electronically and 38.8% purchased goods (works, services) electronically.
