Belorusneft’s Russian affiliate interested in increased quota for pumping gas via Gazprom network

The Yangpur oil company, a subsidiary of the state-owned company Belorusneft (Rechitsa, Gomel Oblast), is interested in receiving a larger quota for pumping natural gas through the gas pipeline system of Russia’s Gazprom, says Yangpur CEO Alexander Polyakov. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Our daily production capacity is 3.5 million cubic metres of natural gas. In fact, it is no longer a question of production, but of the capacity of gas pipelines, the admission to Gazprom’s system, which sets a limit on the pumping of gas. Today we are making an assessment of our capacity, to what extent we can increase our quota in the Gazprom system,” Polyakov said in an interview with the Belneftekhim Bulletin. </p> <p> </p> <p> Yangpur increased its natural gas production in Russia 3.8 times year on year in 2020 to 870 million cubic metres. The company plans to increase gas production to 1 billion cubic metres, Polyakov said. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belorusneft-Sibiria Ltd, a subsidiary of Belorusneft, purchased Russia’s Yangpur Oil Company (based in Tiumen) in Oct 2013. Yangpur has been performing oil production operations in Russia’s Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. In 2019, Yangpur won the tender for the right to use subsoil at the 493.5 sq km Yuzhno-Tydeottinsky license area. The new asset was acquired for geological study, exploration and production of hydrocarbons. Previously, Yangpur obtained a license for geological study, exploration and production of hydrocarbons at the Izvestinsky area, where it produced 193 thousand tonnes of oil in 2018. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in exploration works, oil extraction, gas processing, and offers a wide range of seismic exploration operations. </p> <p> Belorusneft provides oil extraction services in Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela and Ecuador, facilitates crude supplies to the Belarusian oil refineries (Mozyr Oil Refinery, Gomel Oblast, and Naftan OJSC, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast) on a give-and-take basis.
