Belorusneft plans to increase density of high-speed charging stations for electric vehicles in 2022

Belorusneft State Production Association (Rechitsa, Gomel Oblast) plans to run a pilot project to expand the country’s network of fast charging stations for electric cars and electric buses by mid 2022, said Alexei Nikitenko, head of the Department of Advanced Energy Technologies at Belorusneft’s Central Office. </p> <p> </p> <p> “By mid-2022 we plan to implement a pilot project: a station with increased charging speed for both electric cars and electric buses,” neft.by reports citing Nikitenko as saying. </p> <p> </p> <p> He also said that by the end of 2021 Belorusneft will be able to serve 25 thousand electric vehicles in a comfortable mode. “Now we have densified the number of charging stations in order to solve the problem of queues, which sometimes occur on the highways,” said Nikitenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to expert estimates, the number of electric cars in Belarus will increase up to 300 thousand in 2025. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2021 Belorusneft will expand its network of Malanka electric charging stations from 457 to 600 units. Priority is given to the construction of fast charging stations with 150 kW capacity, the equipment for them is produced by Vityaz (Vitebsk Oblast). </p> <p> </p> <p> Also in 2021, they plan to start building two super-fast charging stations with 350 kW capacity. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the president of Belarus appointed Belorusneft state operator for development of the electric charging network (decree No. 273 of July 10, 2018). The company plans to open 640 stations by 2022. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belorusneft was founded in 1966. Being part of Belneftekhim state petrochemical concern, the company specializes in exploration work, oil extraction, gas processing and offers a wide range of seismic exploration operations. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belorusneft provides oil extraction service in Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela and Ecuador, facilitates crude supplies to Belarusian on refineries on a give-and-take basis.
