The first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP, Astravyets, Grodno Oblast) is ready for industrial operation after it successfully completed its pilot operation phase, the press service of Rosatom’s engineering company Atomstroyexport (ASE) said May 24. </p> <p> </p> <p> The report says that BelNPP’s first power unit has successfully passed the so-called comprehensive testing - the final stage of pilot operation (started on December 22, 2020), during which the operability of the main equipment was confirmed at the design parameters in normal operation mode. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Successful completion of this stage testifies to the readiness of power unit No. 1 for industrial (commercial) operation,” the report says. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The duration of the comprehensive testing was 15 days, during which the unit operated at 100% capacity.
