Belavia passes IATA safety audit

After an audit conducted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Belarus’ air carrier Belavia had its IOSA certificate renewed until 2 November 2023, Belavia said in a press-release. </p> <p> </p> <p> The certificate confirms that the airline adheres to the advanced international aviation standards in the field of operational safety, Belavia explained. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belavia was first audited by the International Air Transport Association in 2007. In accordance with the rules, a certificate is mandatory for all IATA members. Recertification is carried out every two years and is a condition for the membership in the international association. </p> <p> </p> <p> IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) is an airline operational safety audit program developed by the International Air Transport Association. It is designed to evaluate the operational management and control systems of air carriers. The IOSA Standards Manual includes about 1,000 requirements that airlines must meet during an audit. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belavia is Belarus’ largest air carrier. Currently, due to bans on the use of Belarus airspace, Belavia operates scheduled flights to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, UAE, charter flights to Turkey, Egypt and Jordan. It has been a full member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since 1997 and a member of the European Regional Airlines Association (ERAA) since 2010.
