Belarusian Labour Ministry's social security budget revenues to increase by 9.5% in 2022 to Br21.4 billion – bill

Revenues of the Belarusian Labour Ministry’s social security budget are planned to increase by 9.5% in 2022 to Br21.4 billion ($8.509bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> This is stipulated in the bill “On the budget of the state extra-budgetary fund of social protection of the population of the Republic of Belarus for 2022,” which was adopted on 14 December in two readings by members of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, the lower chamber’s website says. </p> <p> </p> <p> The bill says that the main source of the social security budget revenues will be mandatory insurance contributions (about 90% of the revenue structure), which will amount to Br19.4 billion ($7.714 billion, $1 = Br2.5147; +9.6% against the expected performance in 2021). </p> <p> </p> <p> Expenditures of the social security budget are planned to increase by 9.6% to Br21.1 billion ($8.39 billion) in 2022. 76.4% of social security budget expenditures will to go to pay pensions, or Br16.1 billion ($6.402 billion; +10.2%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The average monthly retirement pension of a non-working pensioner in 2022 is planned at Br581.2 ($231.12). </p> <p> </p> <p> Revenues of the Labour and Welfare Ministry’s Social Security Fund in Jan-Oct 2021 stood at Br15.958 billion ($6.246 billion, 83.5%), expenditures – Br15.671bn ($6.134bn, 83.4%), surplus – Br287 million ($112.33m).
