Belarusian car dealers reduce sales of new cars in Nov 2020 by 16.9% to 4,115 – BAA

Car dealers, members of the Belarusian Automobile Association (BAA), reduced sales of new cars in November 2020 by 16.9% year on year to 4,115 vehicles, the Association reports on its website. </p> <p> </p> <p> Compared with October 2020, new car sales in Belarus increased by 9.5% in November 2020. As many as 8,544 new cars were sold in March, which has been the biggest number this year. Experts say high demand mainly stemmed from the drop of the national currency and the households’ effort to save money when buying cars for Belarusian rubles. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the BAA, sales of new cars decreased in January-November 2020 by 20.4% year on year to 49,100 vehicles. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the import of passenger cars into Belarus increased in 2019 by 23% year on year to 106,600 vehicles.
