Belarusian Automobile Association concerned about violence in Belarus, calling for dialogue
<p> MINSK, Aug 18 - PrimePress. The Belarusian Automobile Association (public association of car dealers) released a statement voicing concern about the crackdown in Belarus. The Association urges to investigate acts of brutality, bring those responsible for the atrocities to justice, and calls on the parties to begin dialogue. The statement is posted on the Association’s website. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The cruelty and abuse on the part of law enforcement agencies on the streets of our cities and in detention centers against civilians is outrageous and beyond comprehension. Our Association that represents world’s leading brands in the country has always been out of politics. Business is apolitical until violence against business, our employees and team members crosses the red line,” reads the statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Association appealed to the leadership of the country and security agencies, demanding that all persons detained during nonviolent protest actions released, arrests and acts of brutality and misfeasance committed by the riot police and other security agencies against civilians are thoroughly investigated and those guilty of all the atrocities are prosecuted. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Today’s nationwide confrontation can only be resolved by peaceful means.
