Belarus wants CIS to launch full-scale free-trade regime

Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko has called on all CIS countries to launch a full-scale free-trade regime within the commonwealth, the Belarusian government said in a statement on Wednesday following an online conference of the CIS Economic Council. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The deputy prime minister emphasized that the most pressing tasks are elimination of trade barriers in the commonwealth, creation of a full-scale free-trade regime for goods within the CIS, easing of administrative procedures for trade and business, industrial cooperation, deepening of cooperation in investment, innovation, transport, and other spheres,” the statement read. </p> <p> </p> <p> “When other countries close, when protectionism covers international trade again, the CIS partners should cherish the free-trade zone created in the commonwealth as the apple of an eye,” Petrishenko said, as quoted by the government.
