Belarus trade unions authorized to conduct price monitoring
<p> MINSK, Jun 10 - PrimePress. In Belarus, trade unions will be legally entitled to monitor and analyze prices, including availability of socially important goods and services, in accordance with draft presidential ordinance “On Amendments to the Presidential Ordinances”, which was submitted by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus (MART) for public discussion. </p> <p> </p> <p> Trade unions are currently monitoring prices on their own initiative, this work is purely informational in nature. Once the ordinance gets signed, trade unions will inform the local executive and administrative bodies and the supervisory body about the facts of violation of the legislation on prices and pricing. They will inform the trade uni on of the measures taken within their competence. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus will determine the procedure for the organization of price monitoring activities, as well as sel ect candidates for public inspectors, draw up work plans and train public inspectors.
