Belarus to make Instant Payment System available for individuals 1 July 2022, with and money transfers to Russia to be launched in 2023 - National Bank
<p> MINSK, Oct 19 - PrimePress. Belarus’ Instant Payment System (IPS) for individuals will start operating from 1 July 2022. Russia-bound transfers to individuals will become available in 2023. </p> <p> </p> <p> Tatiana Ruskevich, Head of the NBB Chief Directorate for Payment System and Digital Technologies, made a statement to his effect at the XVII International Forum on Banking Information Technology “BANKIT-2021”. </p> <p> </p> <p> In Belarus, the system was launched into commercial operation in 2019 and is primarily available to legal entities. Currently, 12 Belarusian banks are IPS members. According to Ruskevich, in the future, all banks will be required to be clients of the instant payment system. </p> <p> </p> <p> The tariff for individuals will not exceed 1% of the amount, while the tariffs for banks will be reviewed - the tariff policy will not repeat the tariffs for legal entities, Ruskevich said. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Instant Payment System became operational in Belarus on 1 July 2019, with commercial operation launched on 1 August 2019.
