Belarus to limit FX settlements for energy resources, fertilizers from Dec 25 – ordinance
<p> MINSK, Oct 29 - PrimePress. Starting December 25, 2020, Belarus will reduce the number of account settlement scenarios where foreign exchange can be used in settlements for energy and fertilisers. This is provided by presidential ordinance No. 376 of October 22, 2020, according to ilex.by. </p> <p> </p> <p> Starting from 25 December, legal entities, their separate subdivisions, individual entrepreneurs (residents of Belarus) will be able to use foreign currency for settlements for natural gas with JSC "Gazprom Transgaz Belarus". </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarusian Potash Company and Belaruskali will also have the right to pay for potash fertilizers in foreign currency. </p> <p> </p> <p> In addition, the ordinance provides for the possibility of FX settlements between BelOil or Belzarubezhtorg on the one hand and Naftan or Mozyr Refinery on the other hand for oil, other hydrocarbon raw materials, all types of oil products imported into Belarus, as well as for oil products produced from oil and other hydrocarbon raw materials imported to Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> At present, legal entities, their separate subdivisions individual entrepreneurs (residents of Belarus) are allowed to use foreign exchange in settlements for: </p> <p> </p> <p> - natural gas, oil, other hydrocarbon raw materials, oil products, coal, liquefied gas, electric energy imported into Belarus; </p> <p> </p> <p> - oil products and liquefied gas produced (including those produced at Belarusian enterprises from customer feedstock) from oil and other hydrocarbon raw materials imported into Belarus; </p> <p> </p> <p> - electric and thermal energy generated with the use of natural gas and furnace fuel oil; </p> <p> </p> <p> - potash fertilisers. </p> <p> </p> BelOil is also currently entitled to settle accounts with legal entities resident in Belarus in foreign currency for oil products produced from oil produced in Belarus.
