Belarus to let private households finance reconstruction of non-depreciated power grids - ordinance

<p> MINSK, Oct 7 – PrimePress. Belarus to let private households to financially contribute to designing and reconstructing non-depreciated electricity distribution networks for power supply of isolated residential buildings for the purpose of using the electrical energy for heating, hot water supply and cooking. </p> <p>   </p> <p> This is provided by the presidential ordinance #381 of 5 October 2021 “On the construction of distribution power grids”, which was published on the National Legal Internet Portal on October 7. </p> <p>   </p> <p> The ordinance establishes the procedure for financing work on the design and reconstruction of power distribution networks for power supply of single-family houses. Energy supplying organizations of the Ministry of Energy have been given the right to act as customers for the design and construction of such networks. </p> <p>   </p> <p> The document stipulates that financing the design and reconstruction of the depreciated electricity distribution networks will be carried out with the use of the state budget funds, of the non-amortized electricity distribution networks - by attracting citizens’ funds in the amount not exceeding 30% of the reconstruction value. </p> <p>   </p> <p> At the same time, consumer cooperatives may be established to design and reconstruct electricity distribution networks.
