Belarus tightens criminal responsibility for crimes against national security
<p> MINSK, Apr 16 - PrimePress. Criminal liability for crimes against national security is being introduced in Belarus. This follows from the draft law “On amending the codes of criminal responsibility,” which passed its first reading at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on April 16. </p> <p> </p> <p> Criminal liability will be introduced for the intentional illegal disclosure of information about the private life and personal data of another person without his/her consent, which caused substantial harm to the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of a citizen, including those committed against a person or his/her relatives in connection with the performance of his/her official activities or public duty. </p> <p> </p> <p> It will also be introduced for dissemination by the owner of an Internet resource not registered as an online publication of information whose dissemination is prohibited, committed within a year after the imposition of an administrative penalty for the same violation, the press service of the House of Representatives said.
