Belarus’ Tax Ministry initiates changes to cash payment procedures
<p> MINSK, Dec 22 - PrimePress. The Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties initiates amendments to the rules set for the use of cash and other equipment for acceptance of payments to promote cashless payments for goods by means of mobile applications and other technologies (draft resolution of the Tax Ministry put up for public discussion at the Belarusian Legal Forum December 22, 2020 through January 1, 2021). </p> <p> </p> <p> Trade entities may be allowed using mobile devices with payment applications that function as payment terminals, and contact and contactless Visa, MasterCard and Belkart cards to minimize traders’ expenses associated with the replacement of payment terminals and other equipment. </p> <p> </p> <p> Among other things, the draft provides for differentiated accounting of goods sold by retail outlets. It is proposed to reduce the sales area from 650 sq.m. to 200 sq.m. required to use cash register equipment to ensure differentiated goods data accounting in such outlets. End </p>
