Belarus’ sugar export up 72.3% in Jan-Jun 2020 to 264,500 tonnes

Belarus increased the sugar export in January-June 2020 by 72.3% year on year to 264,500 tonnes, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> In monetary terms, the export increased in Jan-Jun 2020 by 15.3% to $79.014 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus supplied 236,800 tonnes of sugar to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (up 54.4% yoy) worth $70.52 million (up 3%). Russia accounted for 116,300 tonnes (down 4.1%) worth $34.503 million (down 41.1%), Kazakhstan – 60,156 tonnes (up 122%) worth $17.732 million (up 112%). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus exported sugar in Jan-Jun 2020 at an average price of $298.757 per tonne, down 33.1% yoy. The price for the CIS averaged $296.762 per tonne (down 33.3%), countries outside the CIS – $307 per tonne (down 42.7%). End </p>
