Belarus’ sugar export up 71.7% in Jan-Nov 2020 to 433,500 tonnes

Belarus increased the sugar export in January-November 2020 by 71.7% year on year to 433,500 tonnes, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> In monetary terms, the export increased in Jan-Nov 2020 by 42.9% to $146.092 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus supplied 379,600 tonnes of sugar to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (up 51.9% yoy) worth $128.659 million (up 26.9%). Russia accounted for 187,000 tonnes (down 1%) worth $65.602 million (down 14.4%), Kazakhstan – 97,195 tonnes (up 221%) worth $32.259 million (up 160%). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus exported sugar in Jan-Nov 2020 at an average price of $337.042 per tonne, down 16.8% yoy. The price for the CIS averaged $338.965 per tonne (down 20.4%), countries outside the CIS – $323 per tonne (down 5%). End </p> <p> </p>
