Belarus’ sugar export up 66.9% in Jan-Oct 2020 to 402,300 tonnes

Belarus increased the sugar export in January-October 2020 by 66.9% year on year to 402,300 tonnes, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> In monetary terms, the export increased in Jan-Oct 2020 by 32.9% to $131.018 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus supplied 316,400 tonnes of sugar to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (up 40.7% yoy) worth $98.466 million (up 5.4%). Russia accounted for 163,200 tonnes (down 11%) worth $53.874 million (down 28.4%), Kazakhstan – 92,345 tonnes (up 3-fold) worth $29.887 million (up 140%). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus exported sugar in Jan-Oct 2020 at an average price of $325.64 per tonne, down 20.4% yoy. The price for the CIS averaged $326,174 per tonne (down 20.4%), countries outside the CIS – $322 per tonne (down 5.4%). End </p>
