Belarus’ sugar export down 61.7% in Jan-Apr 2021 to 55,300 tonnes

Belarus decreased sugar export by 61.7% year on year in Jan-Apr 2021 to 55,300 tonnes, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> In monetary terms, sugar export reduced by 30.1% yoy in Jan-Apr 2021 to $29.513 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus supplied 54,500 tonnes of sugar to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (down 56.8% y/y) worth $29.136 million (down 11.9%). Russia accounted for 38,738 tonnes (down 45%) worth $20.827 million (up 2.2%), Kazakhstan – 11,370 tonnes (down 70.9%) worth $5.872m (down 48%). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus exported sugar in Jan-Apr 2021 at an average price of $534.09 per tonne, up 82.3% y/y. The price for the CIS averaged $534.53 per tonne (up 84%), countries outside the CIS – $502 per tonne (up 62%). End </p>
