Belarus needs to create a system to support domestic producers and stimulate the development of productions to increase the share of domestic goods on the market instead of fighting against imports, Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus Vladimir Koltovitch told journalists on April 1. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the Ministry of Anti-Monopoly Regulation and Trade (MART), the share of domestic goods reaches 77% in the food sector, about 43% in the non-food sector and about 60% in the total turnover of goods. “It could be assessed as satisfactory, if it were not for the downward trend we have seen in recent years,” BelTA reports citing Koltovitch as saying. </p> <p> </p> <p> “We are by no means aiming at slapping bans. And the president has discussed this topic, that we should take measures to combat imports, not on the shelf, but to create systems to support domestic producers, stimulate the development of industries and create competitive products for trade and own technological processes,” said Koltovitch.
