Belarus sells $8.8m worth of saw timber to China at BUCE auction on June 16

As a result of special export trading session on 16 June 2021 OJSC "Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange" (BUCE) sold more than 30 thousand cubic metres of softwood timber delivered in containers on CFR terms (cost and freight) worth a total of $8.8m, the BUCE press service reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> In January-May 2021, timber products worth $8.4 million were sold in “Chinese special trade sessions”, and since the beginning of the year, taking into account the last session - for 17.2 million dollars. For comparison, the total lumber exports to China for the whole of 2020, based on the results of special and regular trading sessions, amounted to $12.8 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Special trading sessions to sell saw timber to China have been held at BUCE since December 2020 with the support of the Ministry of Forestry of Belarus in order to diversify export supplies of Belarusian timber products from the traditional direction - the European Union countries - to other promising regions.
