Belarus, Russia to continue applying reduced roaming tariffs until Dec 31, 2021

The period of pilot application of reduced tariffs for roaming in Belarus and Russia has been extended until December 31, 2021, Russian RIA Novosti reports, citing Russian sources in the Russian telecom market. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarusian and Russian telecom operators lowered on November 1, 2020 the interconnect rate from $0.3 to $0.015 per minute on a trial basis, which reduced manifold the telecommunication costs for their clients. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the agreement on the establishment of the Union State of Russia and Belarus was signed on December 8, 1999 in Moscow; by the 20th anniversary of the Union State a program for deeper integration was to be adopted.
