Belarus, Russia to amend agreement on gas pricing, gas transportation
<p> MINSK, Mar 17 - PrimePress. Belarus and Russia will amend the agreement on the procedure of setting prices (tariffs) for supplies of natural gas and its transportation by gas pipelines. The government of Belarus has authorized Ambassador to the Russian Federation Vladimir Semashko to hold relevant talks and sign the appropriate protocol. This is fixed in government resolution #147 of March 15, 2021, published on the National Legal Internet Portal on March 17. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the resolution, Semashko is authorized to sign the protocol if an agreement is reached within the limits of the approved draft, with the possibility of making changes if necessary, which are not of a fundamental nature. </p> <p> </p> <p> Earlier, in February 2021, Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko approved a draft protocol on amendments to the intergovernmental agreement with Russia in the gas sector by his ordinance as a basis for negotiations. The essence of the amendments was not disclosed. In particular, the talks resulted in signing a protocol between Gazprom and the Belarusian government on the procedure for setting prices for natural gas supplies to Belarus in 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, contracts between Gazprom and Gazprom Transgaz Belarus for the supply of gas to Belarus and its transportation through the territory of Belarus are in effect until the end of 2021.
