Belarus’ road bitumen supply to Ukraine up 38.5% to 90,000 tonnes

Belarus increased supplies of road bitumen to Ukraine by 38.5% year on year in June 2021 to 90,000 tonnes, according to the portal еnkorr with reference to the data of Consulting Group A-95 (Ukraine). </p> <p> </p> <p> In June this year, Ukraine imported 90,000 tons of paving bitumen from Belarus: 69,600 tonnes by road, and another 20,300 tonnes by rail. </p> <p> </p> <p> The largest suppliers of Belarusian bitumen was the company Cantarell Ukraine, which imported 26,800 tons, Alliance Energo Trade (AET) - 24,600 tons. </p> <p> </p> <p> All in all, Ukraine imported 147,200 tons of paving bitumen in June 2021, hence the share of Belarus’ bitumen stood at 61.1%. </p> <p> </p> <p> In January-June 2021, supplies of Belarusian road bitumen to Ukraine increased by 55% year on year to 244,000 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus increased road bitumen export to Ukraine in 2020 by 77% on the year to 582,600 tonnes. In 2020, Ukraine imported 860,200 tonnes of road bitumen from all countries, twice as much as in 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Petroleum bitumen is produced from a component of commercial fuel oil - tar and is used as the main component for the production of asphalt concrete.
