Belarus’ retail sales up 3% on yr in Jan-May 2020 to Br20.7bn
<p> MINSK, Jun 17 – PrimePress. Belarus’ retail turnover, including the public catering sector, went up by 3% on the year in January-May 2020 to Br20.7 billion ($8.7 billion at the central bank’s exchange rate) in comparative prices, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> The per capita daily retail turnover in Jan-May 2020 totalled Br14.5 ($6.1) to compare with Br13.2 ($5.7) in Jan-May 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total, trade organizations accounted for 91.5%; individual entrepreneurs and natural persons accounted for the rest (8.5%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The trade turnover of Belarus’ state-owned trading companies grew by 4.6% in Jan-May 2020 to Br19 billion ($8bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ retail sales grew 4.2% year on year in 2019 to Br49.3 billion ($20.8bn).
