Belarus’ retail sales up 2.3% on yr in Jan-Oct 2020 to Br43.5bn

Belarus’ retail turnover, including the public catering sector, went up by 2.3% on the year in January-October 2020 to Br43.5 billion ($17 billion at the central bank’s exchange rate) in comparative prices, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> The per capita daily retail turnover in Jan-Oct 2020 totaled Br15.1 ($5.9) to compare with Br14.2 ($5.5) in Jan-Oct 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total, trade organizations accounted for 91.7%; individual entrepreneurs and natural persons accounted for the rest (8.3%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The trade turnover of Belarus’ state-owned trading companies grew by 3.9% in Jan-Oct 2020 to Br39.8 billion ($15.5bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ retail sales grew 4.2% year on year in 2019 to Br49.3 billion ($19.3bn).
