Belarus’ retail sales up 1.8% on yr in 2020 to Br53.1bn

Belarus’ retail turnover, including the public catering sector, went up by 1.8% on the year in 2020 to Br53.1 billion ($20.8 billion at the central bank’s exchange rate) in comparative prices, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> The per capita daily retail turnover in Jan-Dec 2020 stood at Br15.4 ($6.03) to compare with Br14.4 ($5.64) in Jan-Dec 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total, trade organizations accounted for 91.7%; individual entrepreneurs and natural persons accounted for the rest (8.3%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The trade turnover of Belarus’ state-owned trading companies grew by 3.3% in Jan-Dec 2020 to Br48.7 billion ($19.07bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ retail sales grew by 4.2% year on year in 2019 to Br49.3 billion ($19.3bn).
