Belarus’ retail sales down 3.6% on yr in Jan-Feb 2021 to Br8.26bn

Belarus’ retail turnover, including the public catering sector, went down by 3.6% on the year in Jan-Feb 2021 to Br8.26 billion ($3.186 billion at the central bank’s exchange rate) in comparative prices, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total, trade organizations accounted for 91%; individual entrepreneurs and natural persons accounted for the rest (9%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The trade turnover of Belarus’ state-owned trading companies reduced by 2.9% in Jan-Feb 2021 to Br7.5 billion ($2.893bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ retail sales grew by 1.8% year on year in 2020 to Br53.1 billion ($20.5bn).
