Belarus reports Br431.7m in net profit of FEZ residents in Q1 2021 against Br1.733bn loss in Q1 2020

The net profit of the resident enterprises of Belarus’ free economic zones (FEZ) in Q1 2021 totalled Br431.7 billion ($171.2 million at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Belarus) against a net year-on-year loss of Br1.733 billion ($687.3 million) in Q1 2020, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Proceeds from sales of goods, works and services of FEZ enterprises in Q1 2021 increased 32.1% to Br6.047 billion ($2.4 billion). Industrial output was up 33.1% (in actual prices) to Br5.652 billion ($2.24 billion). </p> <p> </p> <p> FEZ residents increased exports of goods in Q1 2021 by 23.3% on the year to $1/635 billion. Imports of goods increased 23.7% to $1.049 billion. Exports of services grew by 20.5% to $16.742 million, and imports of services grew by 49.5% to $37.817 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> In Q1 2021, capital investment in FEZ totalled Br328.2 billion ($130.16 million), up 6.9% year on year in comparable prices. Foreign investments amounted to Br62.4 million ($24.75 million), up 45.9% year on year in comparative prices. </p> <p> </p> <p> The FEZ numbered 440 registered residents as of Apr 1, 2021 (+16 from Apr 1, 2020), including 426 (+17) active.
