Belarus reports $757.3m foreign trade surplus in Jan-Jun 2020
<p> MINSK, Aug 11 - PrimePress. Belarus’ surplus in foreign trade in commodities and services amounted to $757.3 million in January-June 2020 compared with a $269.2 million surplus in January-June 2019, says the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat). </p> <p> </p> <p> The foreign trade turnover of goods and services decreased in Jan-Jun 2020 by 18.3% year on year to $32.484 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports of commodities and services decreased in Jan-Jun 2020 by 16.9% year on year to $16.621 billion; imports were down 19.6% to $15.863 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> The deficit of foreign trade in commodities amounted to $1.157 billion in Jan-Jun 2020 to compare with a $1.487 billion deficit in Jan-Jun 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports of commodities (in FOB prices) were down 20.2% yoy in Jan-Jun 2020 to $12.497 billion, imports decreased 20.4% to $13.654 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> The surplus of foreign trade in services amounted to $1.914 billion in Jan-Jun 2020 against a $1.756 billion surplus in Jan-Jun 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports of services decreased in Jan-Jun 2020 by 5.1% year on year to $4.124 billion; imports were down 14.7% to $2.21 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> As reported, Belarus’ foreign trade deficit stood at $243.4 million in 2019. The turnover of foreign trade in goods and services totaled $84.175 billion; exports – $41.966 billion; imports – $42.209 billion. Export of goods (in FOB prices) amounted to $32.315 billion in 2019, imports – $36.391 billion; export of services – $9.651 billion; imports of services – $5.818 billion. End </p>

Exports of commodities and services decreased in Jan-Jun 2020 by 16.9% year on year to $16.621 billion; imports were down 19.6% to $15.863 billion.
The deficit of foreign trade in commodities amounted to $1.157 billion in Jan-Jun 2020 to compare with a $1.487 billion deficit in Jan-Jun 2019.
Exports of commodities (in FOB prices) were down 20.2% yoy in Jan-Jun 2020 to $12.497 billion, imports decreased 20.4% to $13.654 billion.
