MINSK, Nov 27 - PrimePress. Belarusian oil refineries (Mozyr Oil Refinery OJSC, Gomel Oblast, Naftan OJSC, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast) reduced the export of motor gasoline in January-September 2020 by 20.4% year on year to 1.157 million tonnes, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a report.

Gasoline output in Jan-Sep 2020 was down 11.6% on the year to 2.219 million tonnes.

The refineries reduced the export of diesel fuel (including biodiesel) in Jan-Sep 2020 by 27.2% y/y to 1.934 million tonnes. Diesel fuel output decreased by 22.6% against Jan-Sep 2019 to 3.959 million tonnes.

The decrease in the export of gasoline and diesel fuel was largely due to a drop in the volume of processing by the Belarusian refineries in the absence of long-term oil supply contracts with traditional Russian suppliers in January-March 2020 and a decrease in the average export price of oil products in January-September 2020 by 36% to $324,626 per tonne as in January-September 2019.

According to the Central Dispatching Department of Fuel Energy Complex of the Russian Federation, the export of Russian oil to Belarus in Jan-Sep 2020 decreased by 30% year on year to 9.416 million tonnes. In total, Belarus imported 10.8 million tonnes of oil in January-September 2020 (20.1% less than in January-September 2019). At the same time, Belarus imported 10 million tonnes of oil from CIS countries in January-September 2020 (25.6% less than in January-September 2019), and 800 thousand tonnes from non-CIS countries (according to the National Statistical Committee, Belarus did not purchase oil from non-CIS countries in January-September 2019).

As previously reported, Belarus reduced the export of oil products in 2019 by 11.7% to 2018 to 10.5 million tonnes. In monetary terms, the export was down 19.7% to $5.2 billion. The revenues fell due to the scheduled repairs at Belarusian refineries, a decrease in prices of oil products, and a drop in the physical volumes of the oil product export due to the contaminated oil incident in the Druzhba oil pipeline. In 2019, the Belarusian refineries reduced motor gasoline output by 14.6% year on year to 2.989 million tonnes, while output of diesel fuel (including biodiesel) increased in 2019 by 2.1% year on year to 6.739 million tonnes.
