Belarus raises utility tariffs for households in 2022
<p> MINSK, Dec 30 - PrimePress. Gas prices and tariffs for heating and electricity, as well as tariffs for housing and communal services ensuring full recovery of economically justified costs of their provision have been raised for private households in 2022, in accordance with resolution #766 of the Council of Ministers of 28 December 2021, published on the national legal portal. </p> <p> </p> <p> The tariff for heat energy for heating and hot water supply in the period from January 1 to May 31, 2022, remained unchanged from the level set from June 1 to December 31, 2020 and amounts to Br21.9245 ($8.68 at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Belarus) per Gcal; in the period from June 1 to December 31, 2021 it increases by 8.8% to Br23.859 ($9.45; $1 = Br2.5249). </p> <p> </p> <p> The tariff for natural gas used in premises with individual gas heaters and individual gas meters in the heating period from January 1 to May 31 inclusive is set at Br0.1494 ($0.059), up 6.2%, from 1 June to 31 December - Br0.1977 ($0.079), up 2.9%; in summer and in the absence of individual gas heaters - Br0.5417 ($0.21) per 1 cubic metre, up 11.9%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The tariff for natural gas used in premises without individual gas meters will grow by 11.9%: with a gas cooker and centralised hot water supply - Br4.33 ($1.72) per resident per month; with a gas cooker and individual gas water heater - Br12.46 ($4.96); with only a gas cooker - Br7.04 ($2.8) per resident per month. </p> <p> </p> <p> The tariff for natural gas used in premises with individual gas meters will be: from 1 January to 31 May during the heating period - Br0.6312 ($0.25) per sq m of living space, from 1 June to 31 December - Br0.6872 ($0.27), up 8.9%; during the summer period from 1 January to 31 May - Br0.2367 ($0.09), from 1 June to 31 December - Br0.2577 ($0.1) respectively per sq m of living space per month, up 8.9%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The price of gas used without individual gas meters with a gas cooker and centralized hot water supply or individual water heater increased by 12% to Br4.4 ($1.74) per resident per month, with the lack of centralized hot water supply - by 11.9% to Br12.47 ($4.94), with only a gas cooker - by 12% to Br5.87 ($2.32). </p> <p> </p> <p> If there are individual gas heaters during the heating period from January 1 to May 31, the price of gas will be Br7.4757 ($2.96); on June 1 - December 31, 2021) per square meter of floor area, from June 1 to December 31 - increased by 8.8% compared to the previous period to Br8.1351 ($3.22), in summer - increased by 11.9% to Br1.4669 ($0.58) per square meter of living space. </p> <p> </p> <p> The single-rate tariff for electricity in residential buildings with electric cookers was increased by 11% to Br0.1973 ($0.078) per 1 kWh. </p> <p> </p> <p> The electricity tariff for heating and hot water with connected equipment over 5 kW is increased by 11%. During the minimum load period, it will be Br0.1354 ($0.054), and during the rest of the day it will be Br0.2514 ($0.1). </p> <p> </p> <p> During the period from June 1 to December 31, the single-rate tariff will increase by 2.2% compared to the previous period to Br0.1003 ($0.04 USD). During the minimum load period, it will be Br0.0683 ($0.027), and during the rest of the day it will be Br0.1275 ($0.05). </p> <p> </p> <p> The document also approved tariffs (prices) for public services, to make sure they ensure full recovery of economically justified costs associated with providing these services. </p> <p> </p> <p> The single-rate electricity tariff was increased by 11% to Br0.2552 ($0.101) per 1 kWh. </p> <p> </p> <p> The resolution enters into force on 1 January 2022.
