Belarus raises retail prices of motor fuel by 0.56% Oct 20, 2020

Belarus will raise on October 20, 2020 retail prices of AI-95-K5-Euro petrol by 0.56% to Br1.79 ($0.7 at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus) per liter; AI-92-K5-Euro – by 0.6% to Br1.69 ($0.66), AI-98-K5-Euro – by 0.5% to Br2.01 ($0.78); diesel fuel – by 0.56% to Br1.79 ($0.7) per liter, Belneftekhim state petrochemical concern reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> This is the 15th change in motor fuel prices in 2020. This year, the price of 1 liter of AI-95-K5-Euro petrol has increased by 2.87%; AI-98-K5-Euro – by 2.55%; AI-92-K5-Euro – by 3.05%; diesel fuel – by 2.87%. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belneftekhim says that motor fuel prices in Belarus are 16% higher than in Russia, “which applies a damping pricing mechanism.” The prices are therefore 15-46% lower than in the neighboring countries. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belneftekhim pursues the strategy of phased adjustments of motor fuel prices to prevent sharp price fluctuations or surges during the seeding and harvesting campaigns. The possibilities for their containment without damage to the oil refining enterprises have also been maximized despite the negative impact of external economic factors, Belneftekhim says. </p> <p> </p> <p> Motor fuel prices in Belarus changed 28 times in 2019.
