Belarus raises base pay rate for public sector employees by 5.4% to Br195 Jan 1, 2021
<p> MINSK, Nov 18 - PrimePress. Belarus raises the base pay rate by 5.4% to 195 Belarusian rubles ($76.29 at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), as per Council of Ministers’ resolution No.659 of November 18, 2020, the government’s press office reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> The base pay rate is used to set salaries in public sector and other subsidized organizations equaled to public sector ones in terms of remuneration. </p> <p> </p> <p> The resolution comes into force on January 1, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, first time, the Br185 base pay rate ($72.38) replaced the first pay grade on January 1, 2020. It was supposed to be close to the subsistence budget (living wage). The average per capita rate was set on November 1, 2020 at Br258.11 ($100.98). </p> <p> </p> <p> The size of the base pay rate is set by the government, as a rule, on January 1 of each calendar year based on the socio-economic development forecast.
