Belarus raises average per capita subsistence budget by 0.78% to Br258.11 Nov 1, 2020

The average per capita subsistence budget in Belarus for the period from August 1 to October 31, 2020 will increase by 0.78% to Br258.11 ($101.08 at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), as per resolution No.95 of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus of October 23, 2020 posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on October 28, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> The subsistence budget for the working-age population increased by 0.22% to Br285.11 ($111.88); pensioners – 0.63% to Br195.15 ($76.43); university students – 0.54% to Br248.06 ($97.15); children under the age of three – 2.73% to Br165.18 ($64.69); children aged three to six – 1.85% to Br228.85 ($89.62); children aged six to 18 – 1.34% to Br278.16 ($108.94). </p> <p> </p> <p> Wage premiums and allowances of the social protection system and some welfare payments based on the size of the subsistence budget will automatically increase by 3.78% from November 1, 2020. This applies to welfare payments to families with children, social pensions, extra payments to pensioners aged 75 and over, allowances for care of persons assigned to the 1st disability group, persons who have attained 80 years of age, and allowances and pensions for some categories of pensioners. </p> <p> </p> <p> Resolution No.96 of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus of October 23, 2020 posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on October 28, 2020 sets the minimum consumer budgets in average prices of September 2020 per month from November 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The standard for the working-age population increased by 1.18% to Br528.3 ($206.9); pensioners – 1.37% to Br410.1 ($160.61); children under the age of three – 2.41% to Br352.55 ($138.07); children aged three to six – 0.19% to Br448.14 ($175.51); children aged six to eighteen – 1.83% to Br457.49 ($178.17); a family of four – 1.62% to Br419.78 ($164.4) per each family member; a young family of three – 0.77% to Br450.43 ($176.4).
